If you're like a lot of our Teaching Tech clients, you use your iPhone for most, if not all, of your tech needs. But are you getting the most out of your swanky phone? Sure, you might know how to text and FaceTime friends, and you also know how to browse the internet and send out emails, but your phone is so much more useful than that. You've got calendars, reminders and podcasts and more apps free and pre-installed on your iPhone, just waiting for you to use them. In today's blog, we wanted to quickly go over these features with you so that you're getting the most out of your iPhone.
1. Calendar--Use the Calendar app to create and edit events, appointments, and meetings.
--Simply press the plus (+) icon at the top of the screen, enter the name of the event, and update the starting and ending date and time of your event, tap done and you're good to go!
--You can even add alerts to your event so that you'll be reminded ahead of time.
2. App Store--Browse and download apps to your iPad or iPhone from the App Store. The App Store has more than one million apps and games for your iOS device.
--To discover apps, games, and in-app events, tap any of the following: Today, Games, Apps, Arcade or Search.
3. Podcasts--Use the Podcasts app to find shows about science, news, politics, comedy, and more.
--If you find a show you like, you can follow it to add it to your library. Then you can easily listen offline, get notified about new episodes, and more.
4. Reminders--In the Reminders app , you can easily make to-do lists for things like grocery shopping, tasks around the house, and projects at work. Create subtasks, set flags, add attachments, and more.
5. iTunes Store--Use the iTunes Store app to add music, movies, and TV shows to iPhone and iPad. *Be aware that these music, movies and tv shows may cost money.*
6. Notes--Use the Notes app to jot down quick thoughts or organize detailed information with checklists, images, web links, scanned documents, handwritten notes, and sketches.
7. Clock--Use the Clock app to see the local time in different time zones around the world.
--Tap World Clock, then tap plus (+) to choose a city.
--In the Clock app , you can set regular alarms for any time of day and have them repeat on one or more days of the week.
--Tap Alarm, then tap plus (+) to set a regular alarm.
